Dadasaheb Patil is an experienced farmer who has been growing table grapes and pomegranates on a 20 ha site, 120 km north of Nashik, since the 1970s. In 2001 he decided to try producing wine grapes, and converted part of his vineyard to Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.
Production capacity has expanded from an initial 40,000 litres/annum to 1 million litres/annum. Grapes for this additional production come under contract from surrounding farmers.
